There are lots of people knitting, crocheting and sewing in Formby! The Good Wool Shop aims to complement existing groups and to help people learn new skills and make new friends.

Local knitting and crochet groups include

The Good Wool Shop’s own knit and natter groups (free drop-in, all now at The Lifeboat, Three Tuns Lane): Thursdays 2.30 – 4pm  and Tuesdays 7.30 onwards.

WI knit and natter (WI members only), Tuesday afternoons, 3 – 4.30pm,  at Cathy’s Tea Rooms

U3A knitting group (U3A members only), 1st and 3rd Wednesday of month, 11am – 1pm, members’ homes

Workshop on Wednesdays (charity knitting group, open to all), 1st and 3rd Wednesday of month, 1.30 – 3pm, Holy Trinity Church meeting room

Knitters United (charity knitting group, open to all), Mondays 1.30 – 3pm Formby United Reformed Church.

St Jerome’s Crafters (open to all), Wednesdays 10.30 – 2.30, St Jerome’s Church Hall

Natterjacks craft group (open to all), alternate Thursdays 7.30 – 9.30pm, Holy Trinity Workshop

Members of many of these groups were a huge encouragement in the planning of the Good Wool Shop, and many also contributed to the launch day bunting.
