We have lots of courses, workshops and informal teaching going on at The Good Wool Shop.

Most of the courses listed below are aimed at adults, but there’s no formal age limit – lower or upper!

Knit and natter

Since we closed the shop in Feb 2017 all our Knit and Natter sessions have relocated to The Lifeboat, the newly opened Wetherspoons pub opposite Waitrose on Three Tuns Lane.  There’s even a new group that formed as a spin-off from a beginner crochet class!  None of the groups are formally led, we just see who comes along and share ideas and good company. There’s no charge to take part.

We have groups on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm, Wednesday mornings 10am – noon and Thursday afternoons 2.30 – 4pm.

From 8 till 9pm as part of the Tuesday evenings we often have a “tutorial hour”  – starting the evening with a themed hour’s session to help you get a grip on new knitting and crochet techniques, or to tackle any problems you’re facing with your latest project.  The fee for tuition is £7.50.  The rest of the group will meet as usual and at the end of the hour you can relax with a drink and practice your new found skills in friendly company!

Siobhan Beaudin led a fascinating afternoon for us on preparing raw fleece – now we are taking a trip to her studio near Warrington to learn about and try our hands at dyeing fabrics and yarns.
